BRAND NEW FOR MAY 2026

We are currently working hard to create our brand new outdoor rabbit and guinea pig enclosures here at Hillcrest Petcare, and I will share some photos with you soon.  The enclosures will be ready in time for the May half term and will replace our existing infrastructure.

 

The new walk-in enclosures are being carefully designed with both comfort and welfare in mind, giving rabbits and guinea pigs plenty of safe space to explore, relax and enjoy their stay.

 

Each enclosure will measure approximately 1.8 metres by 1.9 metres and will be around 1.8 metres high, creating a spacious and secure environment with a covered roof area for shelter and protection from the weather.

 

Inside each enclosure will be a large single-storey sleeping hutch running the width of the enclosure and raised around one metre off the ground. This means pets will still have full use of the space underneath, with ramps allowing them to come and go freely whenever they choose.

 

The enclosures will also include concrete bases for safety and cleanliness, along with dig boxes, hides and enrichment areas to encourage natural behaviours and provide lots of fun and stimulation.

 

Creating a calm, homely and enriching environment for every animal in our care is so important to me, and these new enclosures are being built with so much thought, love and attention to detail. I genuinely cannot wait to show you the finished result and share more updates as everything comes together.
